Dr. Markus Fuderer, Rechtsanwalt (attorney) born in 1980, studied law at the University of Mannheim and Kingston University, London. Afterwards he joined the Institute for German, European and International Medical Law, Public Health Law and Bioethics (IMGB) of the Universities of Heidelberg and Mannheim as its deputy managing director. In 2015, Markus Fuderer completed his doctoral thesis on the subject of research cooperation/compliance between companies and university clinics in the field of clinical trials.

Since his admission as a qualified lawyer in 2016, Dr. Fuderer supports the pharmaceutical & healthcare team of the law firm Meisterernst Rechtsanwälte in all questions of pharmaceutical law, competition law and related fields.

He focusses in particular on:

• regulatory matters of medicinal products, veterinary medicinal products and medical devices (e.g. marketing authorisations, certifications, manufacture, labelling and advertising of products, differentiation of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, foodstuffs and cosmetics) and competition law matters related to these fields
• drafting and negotiating agreements, in a particular relating to development and distribution of medicinal products and medical devices (e.g. R&D contracts, clinical trial agreements, licence and supply agreements)
• advice on reimbursement in statutory health insurance (AMNOG, benefit assessment, discount agreements, list of aids, DiGAs)
• compliance (anti-corruption law and industry codes, etc.)
• advice regarding innovative therapies and procedures, such as E-Health, medical apps, 3D-printing in medicine and the use of digital data, clouds and artificial intelligence in the health sector.

He is a member of the Committee “Digital Health” of the German Medicines Manufacturers´ Association (BAH).
